# Custom colors & images

Set a color, a two-color split or your own image for each option value.

With **Custom swatch** or **Custom card**, you decide what each value looks like — a color, two colors, or your own picture.

To get started:\
Go to **Option styles**, set an option to **Custom swatch** or **Custom card**, then click the **gear icon** next to it.

***

## 1. **Set each value**

The **Custom swatch** window lists every value of the option. Use **Search variant value** to find one.

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="180"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Add color 1</strong></td><td><ul><li>Pick a color or type a hex code, e.g. <code>#1F4E79</code>.</li></ul></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Add color 2</strong></td><td><ul><li>Add a second color for a two-color split — great for "Black &#x26; White".</li></ul></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Upload file</strong></td><td><ul><li>Use your own picture — a fabric, a print, a pattern.</li><li>JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 5 MB.</li></ul></td></tr></tbody></table>

→ *A value uses either colors **or** an image. Uploading an image clears the colors, and picking a color clears the image.*

## 2. **Save**

Click **Done** to close the window, then click **Save** in the save bar at the top. Nothing changes on your store until you save.

## 3. **Good to know**

* Common color names are filled in for you — a value called "Red" or "Navy" already has a color, and "Red/Blue" gets two colors.
* Colors and images are set **per value, store-wide**: "Red" in **Color** looks the same on every product and on both the product and collection pages.
* If a value is removed from all your products, its color or image is removed too.
